The Igenix Western Blot has all the antigens that the standard Western Blot has plus the more species specific bands that were left off the Western Blot back in the day when they were planning on giving everybody the immunization "shot" for preventing Lyme.
The company that made the immunization against Lyme Disease ended up taking it off the market because a few people had a very life threatening reaction to the shot. People with the HLA Dr 4 do not did not do well if they received the "Lymrix" immunization.
Now only dogs can get the Lyme immunization shot.
Meanwhile the CDC NEVER included the two BEST BANDS back into the Western Blot. [31 and 34, aka OspA and OspB]
Igenex added the two very good species specific BANDS back into their Western Blot ….SO…Igenex is a BETTER "Western Blot" for that reason.
The other doctors who do not realize this improvement of the Igenex Western Blot keep saying there is something unreliable about the Igenex test. That is so absurd; these doctors are all just very poorly informed.
It is so very frustrating that so many doctors are so poorly informed. SAD actually.
IGeneX considers a Western Blot (IgM or IgG) to be positive if just two or more of the following bands are positive: OspC (23-25), 31, 34, 39, 41, and 83-93.
